Deborah’s Place, Inc. 2024 Impact Report
Building Stronger Communities, One Life at a Time
At Deborah’s Place, Inc., we are dedicated to providing support, resources, and opportunities for vulnerable populations in Indianapolis and beyond. Through our comprehensive programs and strategic partnerships, we have made a profound difference in the lives of thousands of individuals, families, and communities.
Senior Support Initiatives
Through partnerships with Clearwater Nursing Home, Wellbrook of Carmel, Wellbrook of Avon, Clear Vista Lake Health Campus, and several other organizations, we serve over 300 seniors each month. Our senior engagement programs offer vital support and enriching activities that promote social connection and significantly improve the quality of life for older adults in our community.

Community-Based Reentry Programs
In 2024 we helped 560 men, women, and juveniles successfully reintegrate into society through financial literacy, character development, and workforce training. Our program, conducted in collaboration with the Community Justice Campus, Marion County Probation Office, and Hamilton County Probation Office, has provided crucial skills to help individuals transition back into their communities.
We launched our record expungement initiative to remove barriers for justice-impacted individuals. Our first event helped 26 men successfully expunge their records, with 75 total attendees. We are committed to expanding this program with two additional events in 2025, aiming to assist up to 200 individuals.

Community Service & Workforce Readiness
In addition, through our community service partnership with the Marion and Hamilton County Probation Offices, we supported 91 individuals—62 men and 29 women—by requiring their participation in our customer service skills, character development and financial literacy courses. These programs are designed to foster personal growth, enhance decision-making skills, and equip participants with the financial knowledge needed for long-term stability and success.
Empower HER Justice Initiative
Our outreach at the Indiana Women’s Prison reached 680 incarcerated women, delivering not just hygiene products and healthcare essentials, but also a powerful message of hope and dignity. By addressing immediate needs and offering meaningful support services, we created pathways for healing and rehabilitation—helping these women reclaim their worth, restore their confidence, and envision a brighter future beyond prison walls.
Domestic Violence Intervention & Support Services
In collaboration with Coburn Place, Wheeler Mission, the Salvation Army, and other mission-aligned organizations, we provided vital resources—including clothing, furniture, hygiene products, and household items—to over 60 women monthly affected by domestic violence. These resources played a critical role in helping survivors rebuild their lives with dignity and stability. Many of the women we supported were transitioning out of emergency shelters or temporary housing and needed assistance creating a safe, comfortable living environment for themselves and their children. By meeting these basic needs, we helped reduce barriers to healing and empowered survivors to focus on their long-term goals, such as employment, education, and emotional recovery.

Transitional Housing Initiative
In June 2024, we proudly launched Deborah’s Place Transitional Housing, a safe and supportive space designed to help families rebuild their lives. By November, we joyfully welcomed our first two families, offering them not just shelter, but a foundation for stability, healing, and independence. This incredible milestone was made possible thanks to the collective support of our dedicated partners—most notably IKEA—whose generous contributions helped transform empty spaces into warm, welcoming homes filled with hope and possibility.
Youth & Family Support
Partnering with the Department of Child Services and Firefly, we made a powerful impact on the lives of over 4,000 youth across underserved communities. From back-to-school supplies to holiday giveaways and year-round support programs, we ensured that children had consistent access to the essentials they need to thrive. These efforts go far beyond just meeting basic needs—they create moments of joy, restore hope, and open doors to opportunities that every child deserves.

Deborah’s Place School
Our training and certification programs equipped 149 individuals—32 in Indiana and 117 across other locations—with career-advancing skills, including:
• Customer Service Training
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Certification
• Qualified Medication Aide (QMA) Training
• Medical Billing & Coding Certification
Hygiene & Essential Goods Distribution
At Deborah’s Place, we proudly supported over 1,000 individuals this year by providing essential hygiene supplies to an average of 85 people each month—many of whom were served in partnership with The Damien Center.
Our impact expanded even further as we extended support to organizations such as the American Cancer Society, Eastern Star Church, New Direction Church, and others. These collaborations allowed us to meet critical needs across the community, strengthening our mission to uplift and care for those who need it most.
Deborah’s Place creates meaningful impact each month by serving hundreds of individuals and families through a strong network of over 200 local community agencies, churches, and grassroots organizations. Our warehouse hosts weekly community giveaway days, providing direct access to essential resources. Additionally, our extensive partnerships allow us to support countless others indirectly, expanding our reach and ensuring that vital supplies and support consistently reach those who need them most. Together, we're building a stronger, more compassionate community—one connection at a time.
